Steve Martin is on my mind because I just finished watching his master class (on masterclass.com), and of course, like everything else he does, it’s sensational. So I started thinking about all the movies he’s done, and which scenes from those films are my favorites. There are a lot to choose from, but below are my top 5.
#5 Parenthood: Grandma’s Rollercoaster Story
I love this scene. Mostly it’s a serious life lesson, but Steve Martin manages to interject a couple of really hilarious lines, especially the last one.
#4 Roxanne: Darts
I think the reason so many people love this scene so much is that, not only is it funny, but he takes down a bully in dramatic fashion. And in a world where it seems like there are an endless number of bullies (and way more people who support those bullies than I previously thought was possible), this is just refreshing.
