Ya ever get your dog to smile? I can never seem to get mine to smile on purpose, like some people can. My dogs usually just look at me like, “Dude, when’s dinner? This is BS. We haven’t eaten in MINUTES!” But sometimes, just sometimes, I’ll catch them in a smile. It’s like capturing a unicorn struck by lightning in a bottle at the end of rainbow.
I’ve read that a dog smiling is actually just a sign of submission, and that the real way to tell that they’re happy is by the tail wagging. Sure, I guess so.
But when I watch a video like the one below, I just gotta believe that dogs actually can and do smile sometimes. And the best part is that when you see a dog smile, it’s impossible not to smile yourself. I mean, try it. See if you can watch this whole thing without smiling. Bet you can’t do it.
This video is awesome. In fact, I think the only thing that could have possibly made this video better is if they had James Taylor singing “Whenever I see your smiling face, I have to smile myself, because I love youuuuuuuu…” in the background. Of course, it’s got to be James Taylor. If I tried to sing that to my dogs, they’d probably just cough on me and pee.
